Erika Hanson Barnes is the founder and principal consultant of EB7 Advisory Group advising universities, governing boards, and private-sector partners on strategic planning, governance, revenue generation, and culture building. Her career spans roles in sports media, professional sports, and national governance.

Erika Hanson Barnes is the founder and principal consultant of EB7 Advisory Group advising universities, governing boards, and private-sector partners on strategic planning, governance, revenue generation, and culture building. Her career spans roles in sports media, professional sports, and national governance.
Erika is a nationally recognized leader in collegiate athletics with more than 20 years of experience guiding programs to achieve record-breaking revenue, transformative facility projects, and student-athlete success. A former NCAA Division I softball national champion at the University of Arizona, she went on to serve as Interim Director of Athletics, Executive Senior Associate AD, and Senior Woman Administrator at her alma mater, securing over $100 million in major and principal gifts — including several of the largest in the department’s history — and managing capital campaigns totaling more than $250 million. She remains deeply committed to student-athlete welfare, equity in sports, and developing the next generation of leaders.
